Welcome to the pre-Thanksgiving weekend! Here’s what you need to know about today / tonight:

TRAFFIC ALERT: SDOT Urban Forestry crews planned to leave early this morning and continue until about 1 p.m. tending to trees along the 6000 block of West Marginal Way (north of SW Front), which will close the outer southbound lane of WMW.

Here is the event schedule for today / tonight:

VACCINATIONS FOR CHILDREN: Three local clinics for today had appointments available for children ages 5 to 11 – check if you’re looking to get yours vaccinated: Louisa Boren STEM K-8 regional clinic (for SPS students); High Point Neighborhood House municipal clinic; Pop-up neighborhood house tonight.

TURKEYS AND GROCERY, # 1: 9h until exhaustion, Eastridge Church is handing out hundreds of turkeys and free bags of groceries – again this year as 39th / Oregon approaches via 39th northbound. No early arrivals, they ask.

HOLIDAY BAZAR: Buy local and handmade! Your next chance is today’s bazaar, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Masonic Hall Alki in The Junction (40th / Edmunds).

BICYCLE RIDE: To rejoin Bike connections west of Seattle‘Ride in the Rain annual social ride – details here. Meet at 9:30 a.m. at Delridge Community Center (Delridge / Genesee).

TURKEYS AND GROCERY, # 2: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (or while stocks last), the West Seattle Food Bank distributes turkeys / groceries in the north lot at South Seattle College (6000 16th SW; sponsor WSB) – approach via 16th heading north.

WAGYU SMASH BURGERS:,,, The periodic special offer at Dame Jaye (4523 California SW), 11 a.m. until exhaustion – details in our calendar listing.

WARM DRIVE CLOTHING: Until Sunday, from noon to 3 p.m. every day, Admiral’s Church (4320 SW Hill) invites you to donate warm clothing to help families Marie’s place.

POP-UP CAKE: Charming and dapper desserts will be at ounces (3809 Delridge Way SW) 3 pm-6pm with some of their famous cakes.

OPEN MIC: All ages, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. to The western place of Seattle (2920 SW Avalon Way).

THE NICK MARDON TRIO: Will play The lark (3803 Delridge Way SW), doors at 7 p.m., music at 8 p.m.

SMASH ADVANTAGE: Not in West Seattle, but to benefit a fund that helps musicians in West Seattle, so we were asked to list it – check out the All-Star lineup, 7:30 p.m. at Moore downtown (1932 2nd avenue).
