20:00 – “Previously on ‘Survivor’!” In the ninth episode, the host Jeff Probst surprised the castaways of the last 10 by dividing them into two distinct groups. The two teams then traveled to their own tribal councils, the first blind group Naseer Muttalif and the second group eliminating Evvie jagoda. There are only eight players left. Who will be eliminated tonight?

8:01 p.m. – When all the players returned to camp after the tribes split, the hot topic was how the first group managed to get Naseer out without him playing his idol. Shan and Ricard took the lead, highlighting how they used Shan’s extra vote to split the votes on Heather. With Heather and Erika right there to hear it all, Erika noted that Shan is in command of the dominant alliance that leaves them both and Alex on the outside. Because Shan has an idol for herself, Erika called her “a baby with a machine gun” which should be removed soon but with caution. She went to Deshawn with the idea of taking the step against Shan or Xander in order to get the idols out of the game. Deshawn was interested and was considering going against his alliance, knowing that Shan was getting closer to a position. to win the whole game. When Deshawn left to speak with Erika, Shan saw them and it made him fear that he was trying to blindly pick her up.

8:03 p.m. – The next morning, Shan went straight to Deshawn to ask him what he was talking to Erika about. He told her that Erika wanted to work with him and Alex for something, but promised they weren’t talking about her. In the conversation, Deshawn reassured Shan that he wanted the four (along with Danny and Liana) to be the last four in order to make a statement for the black community, but they both admitted that they were struggling to keep up with this. lane in trusting themselves instead of doing what’s best for them as individual players. Privately, Deshawn has told us that the fight is difficult for him because his biggest opposition in the game is Shan and therefore he should try to take her out, but he realizes that Black didn’t have the kind of opportunities they have right now to really make a statement and make sure one of them wins this game and Shan is also one of his biggest supporters in this effort.

8:07 p.m. – For the reward challenge, players were tied to a rope while maneuvering through an obstacle course that ended with a puzzle. They played for “pizza under the stars” and a night in a refuge with the comforts of bed. After the first two stages of the course, Liana was in the lead, followed closely by Ricard. By the time they reached the puzzle, most of the players had caught up, and despite a push from Deshawn, Ricard managed to maintain his lead and came out on top. Of course, Jeff couldn’t let him enjoy the reward on his own, so he gave Ricard the option of picking someone to join him first. Ricard chose Shan. When Jeff added another to the group, Ricard chose Heather because she didn’t get an award herself. And when it was a fourth, Ricard went with Xander to reward him for giving up on previous awards and earning rice for the group in previous challenges.

8:16 p.m. – The decision to take Heather and Alex gave Danny a sign that Ricard is trying to work on potential jury members and that they may have to get him out ASAP. With the other four far from their reward, Danny saw an opportunity to take a big step forward by bringing Deshawn on a plan to get rid of Ricard. They considered that Shan would be upset, but at the end of the day, she would have no other options, even if she was upset. Deshawn knew that with eight in the game, they would need five votes to take out Ricard, which meant getting Liana to blind Shan and Ricard. When she heard about the plan, Liana got engaged, but recognized that she is the closest to Shan while needing to differentiate herself from Shan and that this could be an opportunity to play her own game. rather than Shan’s.

8:20 p.m. – To their reward, Ricard and Shan both considered realizing that they have love and respect for each other as people, but they often disagreed in the game and have not made a formal agreement to go to the final two together. Ricard told Shan he worries people like her will win and Shan tells Ricard that she thinks a man will always beat a woman, making it clear that the two are very reluctant to go all the way together.

8:25 p.m. – The next day, Liana asked Shan their intention to go in the last four with the guys. Shan said she wanted him, but she didn’t trust Deshawn either. The conversation reminded them both of when they first met at their summit where they connected on many topics such as their blackness, femininity and shared experiences with their mothers. At the time, their closeness forced Liana to fully commit to Shan and tell him about the plan that was created to catch her off guard by eliminating Ricard. The pair decided that if Shan wasn’t ready to get rid of Ricard, they should instead target Deshawn in the next vote.

8:27 p.m. – After his interview with Liana, Shan went to see Ricard to tell him about the plan to reject him. She said that Danny, Deshawn and Liana were all going to vote against him, but that instead he, Liana, herself, Alex and he should all vote against Deshawn instead. The conversation frightened Ricard into believing he needed to gain the next immunity just in case, and surprised him that Shan wouldn’t have taken the opportunity to get him out without his knowing it.

8:30 p.m. – For the immunity challenge, players had to stand on a narrow beam while balancing a ball on a stick and disc, with several stages of the challenge requiring them to move to a narrower part of the balancing beam . A few minutes later, Liana lost her focus and dropped her ball followed shortly after by Danny while the rest of them lasted for the move to the next section of the beam. In the second stage, Erika fell almost immediately, then was followed by Heather. The other four reached the third stage, but Shan quickly lost her balance and gave up. Deshawn then gave up, leaving only Ricard and Alex. In the end, Xander couldn’t hold out so Ricard won immunity for the second time this season and the second challenge won this episode.

8:40 p.m. – The goal of the guys having gained immunity, Shan was relieved that she didn’t need to go to bat for Ricard and focus on getting Erika out again. She went to the party of five and chose to take Erika out, but neither of them gave Alex a name to make him think it’s him and ruin his idol. Ricard decided he wasn’t going to follow through on this plan and instead put in place a plan to eliminate Shan. He went to Heather, Erika and Alex to get them to vote Shan, but they knew they needed a fifth to make that happen. With few options, Ricard went to Deshawn and told him how Shan came to him with their plan to get rid of him, hoping that would turn Deshawn against Shan for that vote. Deshawn told Ricard that it wasn’t his plan to get rid of him and since Shan lied about it, he’s totally okay with rejecting her. Ricard didn’t believe the lie, but knew he needed Deshawn’s vote to make it happen.

8:42 p.m. – Deshawn went to see Danny who agreed that Shan had broken their deal by going to Ricard and so it was legitimate to vote now. Deshawn later went to Heather and Erika to tell them he was on board to vote against Shan, but also mentioned that Erika is the dummy vote that Liana and Shan are going to cancel. Knowing that Shan has an idol, Erika was afraid to go home. Erika and Heather went to Danny to ask him what he was up to, and he said he wanted Shan or Ricard to come out. With that, they would have six votes and Erika therefore wanted to divide the votes into three on Shan and three on Liana so that if Shan plays her idol, Liana goes home instead of Erika. Erika’s plan was telling Danny and Deshawn that Erika was playing so hard and that Shan might be right in saying it was time to take her out instead. Danny knew that by dividing voices, one voice could change everything. In this regard, Danny and Deshawn found themselves in a position where they could choose between voting against Erika or Shan.

8:49 p.m. – At the top of the tribe, Xander made it clear to Jeff that he was out of the way and because he has an idol he will play it in order to take it one step further in the game. Heather and Erika were open. about not being able to make decisions and Heather said she was okay with that. When the topic of trust was brought up, the conversation split between Ricard and Shan saying that at the end of the day you can’t trust anyone and Deshawn and Danny saying that when working in a group you should be able to. tell them the truth at all times.

8:54 p.m. – We weren’t aware of anyone’s votes at the ballot box and when Jeff asked if anyone wanted to play an idol or a benefit, Xander just sat and none were played. Jeff read the votes: Erika, Erika, Shan, Liana, Shan, Liana, Shan, Liana. This put Shan and Liana in a tie, prompting a vote between the two of them. As Jeff read through all the votes for Shan, she and Ricard shook hands and it was clear that Shan was leaving the game disappointed but with no hard feelings for the people who knocked her out. That being said, she warned Liana not to trust anyone and, on exiting, said Ricard had his vote for a million dollars and called Deshawn a snake.

THE NEXT TIME: Liana is angry with Deshawn and Danny, ready to shoot them, but Alex tells Ricard that his name is spoken and Ricard calls Erika fishy.
