Site Update: Visible to remove Party Pay

I used Visible since May 2021, and I must confess that I love it. For $25 a month, I got unlimited calls, texts, and most importantly, data. It made me rethink the way I use the internet on my phone because I no longer monitor how much data I use. You basically use the phone as if you were on WiFi, like allow Google Photos to upload original image sizes or upload podcast or massive stream Vudu Where Amazon Premier.

The best part is the price, you can tether or use your phone as a Hotspotso that another device can use the Internet (for example, my iPad or laptop).

This does not mean that Visible (a division of Verizon) does not have their problems and problems. I mentioned that this is entirely a “do it yourself” service, if you need tech support, you’re out of luck.

Still, if you set it up, I think $25 for unlimited phone service is an amazing deal. You’re not going to see that kind of low price from a phone company.

So, bad news.

One of the main things I liked about Visible was their Party payment option, which gives you a $15 discount, if you are part of a large group. Think “Family Plan”, but no part is tied to you. Visible will be removing the Party Pay option on October 18, 2022, as they are introducing two phone options: a regular service ($30) and a “plus” service ($45).

Look, even an increase to $30 (a $5 increase for me) I think is fine, as long as the service stays the same. I’m afraid the $30 is a lower version of the “plus” service, that’s what I’m afraid…which means the service will be a $20 increase for me if I need this service” more”. $5 is acceptable, $20 is not for me.

You can read about it on their website:

Existing members will need to get a new SIM card to take advantage of all these features. All new and existing members must update their device software before activating their new Visible or Visible+ plan. Devices currently certified for use with Visible services, including our new plans, are listed in the compatibility checker.
