Jackson Ranks Third in 2026 US Senate Poll — The Amarillo Pioneer

U.S. Representative Ronny Jackson (R-Amarillo) is reportedly sizing up a potential U.S. Senate bid in 2026. And thanks to a new poll, voters now have a better idea of Jackson’s support should he run for higher office.

According to a new survey from CWS Research, LLCJackson ranks third in a potential U.S. Senate clash on the Republican side in 2026. If the Republican primary were held today, incumbent U.S. Senator John Cornyn would lead with 35%, followed by U.S. Representative Chip Roy at 18%, and Jackson at 14%.

Jackson was first elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2020, replacing former U.S. Representative Mac Thornberry. The 2020 race was Jackson’s first political campaign after a long career in the United States Navy. Since his election to the United States House, Jackson has earned a reputation as one of Texas’ most conservative congressmen. Jackson is currently seeking re-election against Democrat Kathleen Brown, a Wichita Falls lawyer, in this year’s election.

In addition to the potential Cornyn-Roy-Jackson race, the poll also measured support for a possible 2024 Republican presidential primary in Texas. In that poll, former President Donald Trump led with 46%, followed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at 29%. If Trump doesn’t run in 2024, the poll found DeSantis would lead the pool of potential presidential candidates with 64%, followed by all other single-digit candidates.
