The Google Pixel 6 is in turn in the spotlight today (October 19), as Google officially launches both this device and the larger Pixel 6 Pro. But with so many details on the phones already revealed, the question arises as to whether Google has any surprises in store.

Whether or not Google has any unexpected Pixel news in its back pocket, we’ll be there when the The Pixel Fall Launch event live stream begins at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. BST.

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are going to get the lion’s share of attention on this show, although we already know a lot of key details. Both phones are expected to run on the Google-designed Tensor chip – Google told us in August – so this will be our first chance to find out what that means in terms of daily performance. We’re especially excited to hear about all the new features that could benefit from Tensor’s focus on machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Here’s what we expect from the Google event:

Google Pixel 6: Besides that Tensor chip, look for an improved camera array in the Pixel 6, although it retains similar wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses to those featured on the Pixel 5. The difference will be in the specs of the main camera, which , rumored to include a 50MP sensor. Google has already confirmed the screen size (6.4 inches) and a fast refresh rate (90 Hz) for this model. We also hope that the rumors of a faster charge and a bigger battery will come out.

Google Pixel 6 Pro: Expect a phone that looks a lot like the Pixel 6, only bigger. We know this model will have a 6.71-inch screen and Google has confirmed a 120Hz refresh rate as well as three rear cameras. We have to look to the rumors about the camera specs themselves, but it looks like the primary lens will be 50MP while a 48MP telephoto lens provides 4X zoom.

We don’t know how much either phone will cost, but the most recent leak suggests prices of $ 699 and $ 899, which would be a steal compared to the premium flagship phones that Google is looking to grab.

Google Pixel Fold (possible): Another potential surprise would be for other products to join the Pixel 6 at Google’s event. There are rumors of a Google Pixel Fold in the works, and while the rumor mill’s lack of concrete details suggests this phone is not very advanced, Google may still offer a glimpse of its first foldable device. There’s a good chance today’s event will unfold without even a glance at the Pixel Fold, which isn’t confirmed by Google at this point.

Google Pixel Watch (possible): Like the Pixel Fold, the Pixel Watch is just a rumor – and pretty persistent over the years, as people wait for Google to release a device that features Wear OS. The absence of rumors in the preparation for the Pixel Fall Launch event suggests that this device will not be on hand either, but we are always ready to be surprised.

Whatever happens, we’ll find out soon enough. Follow us on our Pixel 6 live blog and via the livestream embedded below.
