A major search is still underway in Florida for “person of interest” Brian Laundrie, after the FBI announced it had found a body that was reported missing, van-life blogger Gabby Petito in Grand Teton National Park, in Wyoming.

The body was found near the site where a couple claimed to have seen the van in which Ms Petito and her fiance were traveling together. The couple said they saw the van on August 25, which narrowed investigators’ potential search area. They did not see Mrs. Petito or her fiancé.

The next day, police said they had “exhausted all avenues” to locate Ms Petito’s fiancé, Brian Laundrie, who left his Florida home and went missing in the Florida wilderness. Hours later, the FBI arrived at the laundry house, which is now being treated as a crime scene.

Mr Laundrie left the house on Tuesday and was last seen in a large swampy nature reserve near the town of North Port. Local police and the FBI are currently looking for him in the park.

Ms Petito and her fiance allegedly had a fight and hit each other, according to a Utah police report. The couple, who were traveling in Ms Petito’s van, were spotted arguing in Moab City, Utah on August 12.

Ms Petito disappeared on a road trip with her fiancé, Mr Laundrie, who returned without her, prompting a frantic search for the 22-year-old woman who began on September 11. Mr. Laundrie was later named as a person of interest for the research.
